Fallen Flags # 1 was formed March 2, 1970 by the merging of four rairoads. The Great Northern; Northern Pacific; Spokane, Portland & Seattle and the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy. They all came together under one name, Burlington Northern. Inspired by this combination, MTL produced this group of merger cars to salute the "Fallen Flags" of these famous railroads.
