This 52' Riveted Steel Express Reefer with Plug Door was built by ATSF at their West Wichita Shops and was originally released to REA Express in their colors.  In 1969, it was repainted in this Santa Fe paint scheme of orange with black lettering and a large circle-cross herald, after the lessee released all their express cars back to the railroads that owned them.  This car is equipped with Commonwealth BX Express Trucks designed for freight cars on high speed passenger trains.   At speeds up to 85 mph the car capacity was 32 tons, at higher speeds the limit was 28 tons.
