This 70' Heavyweight Mail Baggage Car is painted green and black with yellow stripes and lettering.  Canadian National's popular pre-1961 paint scheme utilized the yellow "Canadian National" on the top name boards above the windows and maple leaf logos on the lower right and left sides of the car.  This steel combination baggage and mail car saw many years of service.  Mail could be picked up in canvas bags and sorted while the train was moving.  This provided fast mail service to many smaller communities along the railroads route. With a nominal length of 70', these cars were paired with fleets of 60' RPO's and Express Baggage Cars to provide profitable mail services long after the passenger business had tapered off.
