This 60' Box Car with Double Plug Doors is painted yellow and aluminum with the black speed lettering logo.  These 60' Thall-built plug door box cars gave D&RGW the increased capacity they needed as they expanded during the 1960's.  Considered to be a bridge line between the east and west coasts, the Rio Grande did a lot of auto parts transportation and these 100-ton cars provided the platform to transport engines, transmissions and other heavy automotive components.
