This 50' Flat Car with Fishbelly Sides, Side Mount Brake Wheel carrying a covered freight load, is painted black with white lettering.  It was built by Bethlehem Steel and serviced in March 1979.  This flat car was built as part of an 80 car series.  Originally, these all-weld flat cars with wooden decking were decorated with the speed lettering "Rio Grande".  The Rio Grande Herald was covered in the 1970's when the stencil boxes were added.
